Top Spur to Mt. Hood Hike

To McNeil Point

Dave and I completed this hike plus an extra 1000 ft gain to about 9000 feet.

If you tare looking for a challenge and a few hours to exercise, I would highly recommend this hike.  If you visit to early in the summer, it will be covered by snow.  End of July tends to be the best time when all of the wild flowers are blooming.  We just went on Saturday of this past weekend and the wild flowers were still blooming at the higher elevations.  The hike involves pretty steep climbs at times, walks along a ridge line looking over the Sandy glacier and the beginning of the Sandy River, waterfalls, high elevations streams and ponds, glaciers, and meadows covered in wild flowers!

So beautiful!
